June saw us head to Melbourne for a few days so The Boy could attend a bike race(type thing - the rules are strange so race is not really the right word)
We stayed with The Boys brother and his wife.
I fell madly in love with Melbourne... and not just because of the beautiful buildings.

There was some sort of street art thing going on, maybe they always have this I don't know, I have never been to Melbourne before this.
This exibit was popular with the birds, perhaps becuase they deemed it edible.

I had been reccomended the aquarium, aparentley it was awesomely amazing.....

The penguin tank was covered in shit and piss, kinda glad it was fully incased behind the glass
The upside down jelly fish were freaky!

Still I would have preferred some giant beast of a shark, instead of the miniture ones they had, perhaps I am too old now to enjoy the aquarium.
Walked around the CBD a fair bit.
Found St George battling his dragon.

He stood out the front of the library. I couldn't resist going in and checking it out.

Shopping was actually minimal as we stuck to the CBD and didn't go to many of the alternate stores around Melbourne.
Several geek stores :-D and the most amazing comic book store.
Despite the budget I bought a lovely pair of earrings from the Swarovski Crystal Store.

Also found some exquisite marbled chocolate owls

Besides buildings Malbourne has a rather remarkable selection of Graffiti Art almost hiddn laneways. Some are more sparse than others and all are pretty much covered in art.

I really enjoyed Melbourne and couldn't believe it took me this long to go there.
The tram system has a rather nice set up, although if you are there for any period of time you simply must get one of the electronic cards to take public transport or it gets rather rediculous.
