Special Nerd Block Jr "Grab Block" unboxing.

Before I had signed up for Lootcrate I watched a tonne of Lootcrate and Nerd Block unboxings, to work out which one was best for me. Nerd Block ultimately lost out because of the t-shirts, I just don't need a new t-shirt every month, and the lack of information about overseas postage.
Then for Black Friday and Cyber Monday they had a "block grab" in which you could buy a single block with a bunch of old stock in it. I missed out on the classic block but signed up for one Junior block.
You could choose between the girls and the boys block and as the girls block generally seemed to suck so I opted for a boys block.
 It came yesterday!
This is what was inside:
So it promised 6+ items and I got 6
There was US$10 shipping with the US$11 price on the box making it around AU$27
First item was a Mighty Morphine Power Rangers blind bag
Angry Birds Star Wars Phone Dangle ( I got the wookie bird)
 Avengers random toy blind bag
Super excited by the Ben 10 two figure pack
Spider Man Racer is pretty sweet!
 and a Cat Bug Dangler
So what's in the blind bags...

Novmeber Loot Crate Unboxing!

November Lootcrate arrived well into December, so my unboxing is a little late.
Novembers theme was Battle! and the crate had some pretty epic items in it.
Exclusive Mega Man helmet (comes in four colours) collector item with stand for display
I was really excited for this cool Assassins Creed coin.
There was also a street fighter official bandana, a metallic halo figurine and in the back of the magazine were these figures which you can set up in the November box.
Also this month was a t-shirt month.
Who remembers the game Pirates vs Ninja's?
Pick your sides with this epic shirt. #lootpirate for the win!
I also missed posting an unboxing of Octobers Loot Crate so here's a quick pic of what was inside.
Decembers crate "Anniversaries" is currently in customs, so hopefully that should arrive soon, or at least this month.

Book Review: Carnie Punk (Anthology)

CarniepunkCarniepunk by Rachel Caine
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

On a whole the stories are very entertaining, some have funny elements and some are touching while others leave chills down your spine or leave you uncomfortable and squirming in your seat.

With a selection of stand alone and short stories from ready established worlds this is a great collection of Carnival Stories to creep you out.

64.0% "parlor tricks is an interesting little story if you're not familiar with the world, if you are I think this would be an interesting little insight to the life if the two sisters. I also really like the elemental magic in this one."

70.0% "Freak House - reads like an origin story, interesting intro to the characters and paranormal lore. First I've read about a half Djinn, sounds like an interesting series."

71.0% "Oh shit! It's the killer clown story"
12/06 page 342
78.0% "This would be ridiculous if it wasn't so creepy. Highly entertaining and surprisingly multi-cultural Charlies Angels read. Could be a really fun series to get into, kinda reminds me of Marvels Fearless Defenders."

78.0% "BEST. OPENING. LINE. EVER!"
12/06 page 374
86.0% "A Chance in Hell - Not the way I would go about the bigger picture, but as a short story I liked it and she did learn something about herself by the end."
12/07 page 406
93.0% "Hell's Menagerie - A fairly sweet story, though I don't know the characters and I guess you would have to read the series to know what happened. The world is pretty interesting though and the story on it's own is touching."
12/07 page 433
100.0% "Daughter of the Midway, The Mermaid and the Open Lonely Sea - This one is fairly dark and mysterious. Without all the facts its really hard to know how I feel about the ending. Completely unsettling in the unknown."

Night Noodle Markets - Late November Food Festival

Every year from Mid to End of the month of November the Night Noodle Markets is held at Birrarung Marr. It's a hot bed of Asian cuisine sold from tents and trucks to hundreds of punters looking for a feed.
This year there was three levels created around the park with the walk ways and each level was filled with food and make-shift bars all ready to serve you food and drink till late in the evening.
As I walk home this way after work I walked past as they set the market up and on the 19th November, a particularly warm evening, I met some peeps and heading on in.
KPC - Korean Popcorn Chicken, the bottom was stuffed with rocket and this tasted amazing!
Despite all the signs stating that the skewers were 3 for $10 the man serving was selling them for 4 for $10.
These were super delicious and I had two lots. (prawn, calamari, chicken and beef)
Getting there straight after work turned out to be a good idea, since it started to pack out the later in the day it got.
On the way home over the bridge, you could look out over the market and see all the bbq steam the kitchens were creating.
Entry is free and it runs evenings all week in the later part of November.
Beer costs around $8
Meals cost vary and all stalls are restaurants or ready established food trucks.
