An Amazing Person I Have Met

My friend Kates little sister is travelling to Cambodia to help out. Kate herself does lots of commendable work and its good to see that it runs in the family

Two Proserpine Hospital midwives, Emily Holmes and Lyn Brett, will be travelling to Cambodia on 13 April for four weeks to conduct volunteer work in the birthing centres, whilst living with the local villagers. Emily and Lyn have paid for their own expenses but are seeking donations to assist in purchasing much need medical equipment and supplies. They will be taking as many supplies as possible a...nd are hoping to purchase a foetal doppler to take with them. A Tuk Tuk Ambulance, which they hope to buy in Cambodia, is also on their wish list. To donate to Lyn and Emily's mission, the bank account details are as follows: ANZ, BSB 014 691, ACC: 263729178. If you would like a receipt or just want to drop us a note to say you have donated (and so we can say thank you!) please email proserpinemidwives@live.com.au. Thank you for your support!

French Wine

For my 30th birthday, that I recentley celebrated in Brisbane QLD with my friends at a Turkish resturant called Caravanserai - http://www.caravanserairestaurant.com.au/, my dear french friend gave me a bottle of wine.
Les Petites Vignettes - Pinot Blanc 2009
Its from the Alsace wine region and as the providence has switched between German and French sovereignty it is described as Franco-Germanic
It is a fairly light wine that is easy to drink and at 7.1 standard drinks a bottle is a devine way to brighten the cheeks.
I am right now drinking the last of my bottle.

Writing Set from eBay

I purchased this beautiful writing set the other day from eBay.

Gorgeous D5 set of 2 envelopes and 4 writing pages in 2 different styles.

As I still write to my Grandmother this is perfect for me.

This was a single listing and cost less than $5.00

If I am completely happy with it when it comes I will purchase more sets.

Some Cool Little Things That Arrived

So If you know me you know that I LOVE internet shopping!
I don't like dealing with bad customer service and love that the stuff I buy just arrives on my door step.
So here is my latest shopping exploit
Little Werewolf Voodoo Doll Bag Charm
The seller makes awesome movie voodoo bag charms including Batman, Pin Head, Freddy Krueger and more
Werewolf and more charms can be found here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/SMhandicraft
The next item, which I adore, is a black skull dishes brush
Now to most people this probably isn't exciting but I am loving that I can goth out while doing the dishes.
I got it off eBay and there are different colours you can choose from
The eBay store I got him from is http://stores.ebay.com.au/thedogandcatboutique
Next item!
Again this is something simple yet I love it!
Its a Black Swan Tea Strainer
Its rather large and its neck can rest on the edge of your cup while the tea soaks away
The BEST thing about this item is that even with postage it still cost me less than $3
Available in Black or White
Lots on eBay but mine came from http://stores.ebay.com.au/chrisbizstore
And Lastly but certainly not least
The Timber Wolf Hat with Mittens and Scarf
THIS IS AWESOME!!!!
I can't wait for it to get cold. I know this is geeky as hell but I love it anyways
I got the small ear timber wolf one, as its not too over stated but still looks like the animal.
There are plenty of styles and animals to choose from and they are all fairly cheap

First Post for 2012

I am going to try to blog more this year, though I amdit this is kinda a late start, so not a good start, as it is almost Feb already!
First things first, I'm going to do a whats in my bag post
Here's my bag:
In it I have my diary, phone, keys, wallet, silver bullet mints, tempest gum, lipgloss, woolworths foldable recycle bags, advil, bottle of water, my glasses, library card, Black Cats candy and my emergeny toiletry bag (contents of which you prolly don't want to know)

Now check out my desk Zombie:he's hungry for Brraaaaiiiiinnnns
lucky I have a heap of brains stuck all over the office.

And lastly:
What I am watching!
I am obsessed with Lost Girl.
Its filmed in Canada and follows the "lost girl" Bo as she discovers she is a Succubus and solves strange misteries.
Honestly this was a surprise for me. When I first heard about this I thought I would hate it!
Even though its not about vampires, like every seond program that isn't reality tv, I thought it would still be the same old thing as the Vamp shows.
And for the most part it is the same stuff, but slightly different. Must have something to do with it being Canadian and not American.

I love Kenzi, the witty and crazy human sidekick, she's my favorite character.
Sexy Lycan Dyson and his sexy Siren sidekick Hale
Bo herself seems an ordinary everyday chick with some kickass powers
as Kenzi says in the first episode
"you can make people do what ever you want, and not in a creepy hand job way"
